Burnt down in the late 60's? Who wrote this piece? I was a neighborhood kid and we climbed up there to the ruins to play, that was 1966 and it was already burnt down!

Chicago removed all theirs many years ago due too accidents! AZ is even more backwards than I thought. But they are cheaper! AZ doesn't care about "near misses" , stress, and panic attacks. All I've seen is a bunch of talk about how people should learn how to drive in them... but if you actually drive CORRECTLY you risk getting HIT!!!! 2 days in a row for me this week. AZ needs to post DIAGRAMS in these intersections ***

I found my answer: 620 has been the home of KTAR and its predecessors KFAD and KREP since late 1928. It is the longest-used frequency in Arizona. The Arizona Republic bought KFAD AM 930 from the McArthur Brothers Mercantile Co. in early 1929 and changed the calls to KREP. For reasons unknown they changed the call letters to KTAR a few months later. KTAR stood for "Keep Taking the Arizona Republic." The paper owned the station until Eugene C. Pulliam purchased the company in 1946 and sold the radio station. KTAR was the home of the NBC Radio Network from 1930 to 1982. It has been affiliated with ABC ever since. KTAR has had a news/talk format since 1973, when it debuted "Action News," a slogan also used by its then-sister station KTAR-TV Channel 12 (now KPNX-TV). The station is heavy with sports programming and is the flagship station for the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks. It also has carried the Phoenix (now Arizona) Cardinals and Arizona State University sports in the past. The 620 transmitter is located at 38th St. & Thomas Rd. in the parking lot for Desert Vista (formerly Tower Plaza) mall. The mall was literally built around the towers in 1958 since the transmitter and its 2 towers have been there since 1941 when there was nothing but farms in the area.

That is the biggest traffic mess after 4:00 P. It did not make any sense to widen happy valley road to four lanes and funnel traffic down to two lanes

The building seems spacious & well illuminated. Some of the staff seemed a little unprofessional as they lost part of my application after a few days time. The business is located in an area of Phoenix that seems a little shady. Upon my initial hiring at a company through American Work Force, I learned that American Work Force basically takes half of my wages, reducing me to little over minimum wage. My working environment was not well ventilated & the pace was rushed as fast as humanly possible. My fingers were cut daily from boxes yet I was not provided any gloves. The company that hired me through American Work Force did not give their employees a first break, only lunch and second break, which may be illegal on a Federal level. After working in the sweat shop type environment, I have been forced to quit my job due to the cuts and scrapes combined with the heat exhaustion & low pay. Honestly, I feel that American Work Force could have done better to provide me with a good job that is not as abusive to their employees. American Work Force did provide me with a job quite fast, but I feel as if I was given the scraps from the bottom of the barrel.
