The police could care less about decent folks living there, so they leave. If you just stand for a hour looking out into the darkness you see all sorts of freaks walking around and hear women screaming. Keep a gun handy, because when you call 911 when something or someone is smashing at your door, you get a dispatcher mocking you and making comments that "maybe you know them". Most times the police don't come, if they do, they talk down to you as if you are worthless trash, because they think they know you and your income.
